Google just announced a Terms of Service update that will enable the company to use your name, photo and endorsements in its advertising network starting on November 11, 2013. FYI, This new “feature” only will affect you if you have a Google account.
From their update:
… clarifying how your Profile name and photo might appear in Google products (including in reviews, advertising and other commercial contexts).

Here is where you can opt out. Look on the bottom of the page for: “Based upon my activity, Google may show my name and profile photo in shared endorsements that appear in ads.” and make sure it is NOT checked to opt out.
