Looks like Pinterest may have finally found a way to make money after four years of existence. You will now see “Promoted Pin” in your search results.
According to a recent blog post “They work just like regular pins, only they have a special promoted label, along with a link to learn more about what that means.”
From the original post by Pinterest CEO and co-founder Ben Silbermann:
—Tasteful. No flashy banners or pop-up ads.
—Transparent. We’ll always let you know if someone paid for what you see, or where you see it.
—Relevant. These pins should be about stuff you’re actually interested in, like a delicious recipe, or a jacket that’s your style.
—Improved based on your feedback. Keep letting us know what you think, and we’ll keep working to make things better.
It should be interesting to see how this evolves.
